Gladys Croonquist Selander

Gladys was born in Webster County, Iowa. She was a graduate of Iowa State College in 1952 with a bachelor of science degree in H. Ec. Ed.

She was a loving marriage partner for 30 years, during which time she gave her time and talents in many ways to help others through her church and her personal relationships.

Gladys served on the church council of Augustana Lutheran Church, Omaha, Nebraska; the Augustana Altar Guild as president; the Nebraska Synod, Lutheran Church in America, Executive Board, and as a representative of the Nebraska Synod, served as the first woman chairperson of the Nebraska Interchurch Ministries Board.

Gladys was a teacher in the adult education program of the Omaha Public School District and was an enthusiastic volunteer in many causes and efforts toward helping people in need.

Gladys was a member of the Omaha Chapter BS of the P. E. 0. Sisterhood. She served in all offices and served as president from 1975 to 1977.

She met life valiantly and her courage, positive attitude and deep abiding faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.
