Arjes Ann Sundquist Youngblade - wife, mother, grandmother, story teller, painter, and friend.

Although she is a UNI grad, Arjes' heart and support has been in Ames. Arjes has always been "into kids." In the early 1950's she was "Sunny" on WOI-TV's "Magic Window", where she wrote and performed science, art and music materials for kids. Her magic window talents are now found on the canvas.

Arjes' ISU contributions include promoting Iowa State University with her husband Daniel M. Youngblade through various parent committee memberships; the Cardinal & Gold Club, ISU Alumni Association and Order of the Knoll. Her largest contributions to Iowa State come in the way of love and support for her six Iowa State grads - Christine Ella Schmidt, Beth Ann McCrann, Daniel M. Youngblade, Alan C. Youngblade, Mary Ellen Dubas and David A. Youngblade - and her grandchildren.

Her love and dedication to excellence and to expanding the imagination will live through her creations.
