Bernice Margis Power

Bernice Margis was born on September 13, 1926 in Rockford, Illinois. Her parents were hardworking immigrants from Lithuania. Her mother was a housewife and her father worked in a shipping department in a warehouse. She married Russell Power on June 28, 1952. Together they had four children: Thomas, Susan, Patricia and John.

Mrs. Power began working at ISU as a part-time secretary in October 1977 in the Religious Studies Program and the Philosophy Department. She was helpful to many students and was often a source of unusual insights. She retired in May of 1990 and now lives in New Mexico.
