Carita C. Schaefer lived on campus for over thirty years, (twenty-one in Sloss House). She provided a home for her own family, as well as countless "student girls", who lived with the family while attending Iowa State. She was actively involved in campus life through her sorority, church, political work, and extensive collegiate contacts. She taught us all, through her example, to appreciate the richness of the world and its peoples.
