Denise is the heroine and foundation for more then one family. Born on January 3, 1966 in Minnesota and raised in Superior, WI. Denise excelled in both sports and academics at Superior Senior High School. She graduated from St Scholastica University with a degree in Physical Therapy and found employment in the Des Moines area in 1990.

While raising her two beautiful daughters (Rylee, Raegen) who are a handful, Denise fully supported her husband while he attained his degree from Iowa State. She is also a foundation for the Groth family supporting relatives through trials and tribulations sickness and health. Never wavering when needed Denise has also become a reliable strength within the family she married into.

Denise’s volunteer activities include numerous charitable events for breast cancer awareness and offering her time for Christian women organizations over the years. She set a standard for achievement and excellence in education and athletics which has had a tangible and lasting impact on her entire extended family. She has upheld the standards and spirit of her upbringing throughout her life and her career. Strength immeasurable moral center never in doubt Denise is the epitome of a heroine and deserves a rightful place on the Catt Hall plaza I am proud to honor my wife Denise Rae Matthews through this Plaza of Heroine.
