Gladys Esval Miller has had a life-long desire to learn and share her knowledge with those around her. At 88 years old, she maintains her intellectual interests and powers. She not only remains current in scientific knowledge but numerous other areas, including language, world and local affairs, and sports. When recently encouraged to use Word Perfect for correspondence, she exclaimed "I spell perfectly and my grammar is excellent" - and they are!

Needless to say, she is not using Word Perfect. Her love for and pride and interest in Iowa State University continues to be as strong today as when she attended Iowa State College. After graduating, she worked for Mr. Sage in the Registrars Office while my father, Norton W. Miller, completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering.

She remembers and relates wonderful stories about professors and friends, several of whom have had ISU buildings names for them. Gladys Esval Miller has been an inspiration to her children, grandchildren and friends. We would like her remembered as a woman of significant achievement at the college she loves so dearly.
