Because I love her. Because she is a wonderful mother to 3 sons. Because she is an excellent academic advisor to ISU students. Kathleen is an ISU graduate 1970.

Kathleen Erickson Timmons was born August 24, 1947, to Everett and Katherine Erickson near Armstrong, Iowa. Raised on the family farm, Kathleen was the oldest of 5 children, 4 girls and one boy. She graduated from Armstrong High School in 1965 where she participated in basketball, softball, band, and student government. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1970, majoring in psychology.

Kathleen met John L. Timmons at ISU in Statistics 201 and they married in 1970. Kathleen is the mother of 3 sons: James, John Erik, and Christopher.

She has been an academic advisor in the Dean's office of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University since 1976. Kathleen has advised pre-veterinary medicine, open option, and more recently, Bachelor of Liberal Studies students. She has been recognized as Best Advisor of the Year at ISU. Her office is in Carrie Chapman Catt Hall.

She is honored in the Plaza of Heroines by her husband and sons for her quiet strength, unassuming confidence, continuous caring, wit, humor, and love.
