Dr. Lila Furman-Kocimski served as director of the Iowa State University Health Service between 1/1/78 and 6/30/85. During that time, the University Hospital Service became a national model for similar operations. Dr. Furman-Kocimski was an enormously conscientious, warm-hearted, caring physician. Her friends treasure her memory, her patients remember her skill. She was that rare individual, a totally giving person. She died at the age of 60; May 1993.
