Mother: In 1937 Loraine Schooler Pierson graduated in music from Tarkio College in Missouri the only one of her siblings to earn a college degree. She has spread the joy of music in our family life and in the community through teaching school, playing the organ, and directing the church choir and accompanying sing-alongs for many groups in the community. When I reflect on my mother I admire most her positive outlook on life, her concern for others; and her strong commitment to her family.
