Maura Flaschner served more than 16 years in the Office of Admissions at Iowa State, working her way up to Associate Director of Freshman and International Recruitment.

Maura was a champion for all Iowa State students. She was a tireless advocate for diversity and inclusion and ensured that Iowa State was a community where everyone felt welcomed. She strived to understand the vision of other campus units and worked collaboratively with them to achieve common goals. Even as an associate director, Maura still maintained a territory because interacting with and recruiting the next Cyclone class was her passion.

During her time at Iowa State, Maura served on several committees including the Iowa State Conference on Race and Ethnicity as well as I’ll Make Me a World. She was the adviser for both ISU Hillel and the Puerto Rican Student Association, and she was an active volunteer with the Iowa Games and Special Olympics.

In June of 2016, Maura accepted the position of Director of Admissions at Augusta University in Augusta, GA.
