Phyllis Elaine Boon was born in Manhattan, Kansas November 6, 1934, a twin daughter of Orville and Velma Soupene. She attended college at Kansas State University where she met and married William C. Boon August 15, 1953. Together they lived in Syracuse, Kansas; El Paso, Texas; Manhattan, Kansas; Dallas, Texas; and Ames, Iowa.
Phyllis bore three children: Kathy Boon, Smith Scot Charles Boon, and Kelly Boon Robinson, and has since been blessed with eight grandchildren. Phyllis has been a devoted wife, a very loving mother, and a fun, joy filled grandmother.
She has spent many hours in volunteer work, very active in her church, Collegiate United Methodist Church, on many committees, and now heads the most active Christian Education Committee. Phyllis also works at Mary Greeley Hospital as a volunteer two days a week and has for several years. She is a genuinely happy person who has transformed the many lives she has touched with her positive attitude, compassion, and wonderful sense of humor.
