Born Jan. 27, 1892 in Shanghai Died May 29, 1981 in Peking.
Soong Ching-Ling was the wife of Sun Yat-sen and the sister of Soong Mei-ling (wife of Chiang Kai-shek). She received most of her education in the United States (in Georgia). A devout Christian she very early on decided to devote her life to the Chinese revolution. A partner of Sun Yat-sen until his death in 1925 she continued to serve China. Though nominally a Communist party member from 1949 on until her death in 1981 she served China rather than Mao's regimes.
