Ethel Herrick is my mother. She attended the University of Minnesota, but left before graduating to marry my father, Leo Herrick. They are both life long residents of Rochester, Minnesota. They worked all their lives and raised my older brother, me, and my sister with the understanding that we would go to college and graduate. My older brother Mark Herrick is a 1975 ISU graduate in Construction Engineering. I graduated in 1973 from ISU in Institution Management and my sister, Gail McFarlin is currently an undergraduate at ISU in Hotel Restaurant & Institution Management. After all that tuition, inspiration, and encouragement, my mother certainly deserves to own a piece of Iowa State. Thank you Mom. We love you.
