Volunteer Work Experience
Judie's volunteer activities are legion. She's especially focused on concerns of people and the environment, and her activities in these areas frequently begin with work on a local level project and culminate with lobbying the appropriate governmental body to produce meaningful change. For example, she worked on an Ames League of Women Voters committee to study leaking underground storage tanks, chaired a Story County toxic clean-up day, continues to serve on the Iowa Low Level Radioactive Waste Advisory Board, was instrumental in lowa's passage of the Resource Enhancement And Protection (REAP) bill in 1988, and continues to serve on Story County's REAP committee. She's methodical, determined, painstakingly thorough in her endeavors and respected by all who know her.
