Catt Hall holds special memories for Mary. On a beautiful April noon in 1966 on the steps of "Old Botany," now Catt Hall, Jim West asked Mary Zahn if she would marry him and remain at ISU five more years while he completed veterinary school. Those steps have been shown and probably reshown to daughters, sons-in-law, and now granddaughters. With each passing year, it seems that the view from those steps is more special and more beautiful.
