McClenahan Award - Outstanding Graduate Student in Education Univ. of Iowa; Faculty Member of the Year - College of Education Iowa State; Outstanding Teacher Award - College of Home Economics ISU; Faculty Citation ISU; Establishment of The Rosalind Engel and Alice Lillie Children's Library by the Department of Child Development at ISU.
Professional Organizations: Pi Lambda Theta Phi Delta Gamma. Membership and involvement in many state regional and national organizations in the areas of education and education of young children children's literature reading and literacy library services and storytelling.
Areas of Expertise: Children's literature researcher and writer with numerous publications in professional journals in this and related areas of study. Other Professional Activities: Honors Program coordinating and advising. Editor and reviewer of manuscripts and books for several journals. Compiler of bibliographies and presenter in videotapes to be used in Extension teaching. Presenter of workshops and conference programs for teachers on the selection and use of literature with children and the art of storytelling. Classroom and adult storyteller in retirement.
