Edith M. Humpal is a remarkable woman. Although she was unable to attend more than one semester of college she valued an education. Despite not having an abundance of financial resources this remarkable woman raised 7 children who grew up always knowing they would go to college. Six of her children graduated from ISU. Several of those children went on to obtain advanced degrees. Her 7th child graduated from a different college and is working toward a Ph.D. She is a beautiful person inside and out and gave all her children the desire to learn and supported them in that endeavor in every way possible. She is our heroine, role model and mother. We love you mom!
