Heidi Jennings Kluzak was born Heidi Jo Jennings on January 13, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa. Her parents are Ann Woodard Jennings and Albert Laurence Jennings. While attending Iowa State University she was a scholarship varsity tennis player and a member of Alpha Phi Sorority Heidi was active in the Textile and Clothing Department the College of Family and Consumer Sciences and a member Phi Upsilon Omicron. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Textiles and Clothing in 1990.
With dreams of working for a magazine Heidi Moved to New York City where she met her mentor magazine editor and book author Tricia Foley. Trish guided Heidi into publishing. Since Heidi has had many of her sewn creations appear in Victoria House Beautiful and Family Circle magazines. In 1993 Heidi started and still operates Back Burner Designs & Services an interiors design and fabrication firm in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas. Heidi married Richard Leo John Kluzak on November 19, 1994 and are currently renovating their 1902 country home in Taylors Falls, Minnesota. She enjoys gardening entertaining and snow skiing.
