Mildred was one of a pair of twins born to George Henry and Martha Rosetta Parsons on February 1, 1904 at home near Solon, Iowa. Mildred and Mabel were mirror twins who looked enough alike to be frequently confused with each other. They grew up on the family homestead near Morse. Mildred was married to Andrew Jackson Larew on June 2, 1926 at the First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City, Iowa. It was a double wedding ceremony as Mildred's twin sister Mabel was married to Raymond Lewis at the same time. The brides wore dresses made by their youngest sister Elnora. The three had maintained a very close connection through their shared high school educational experiences.
Mildred and A.J. were the parents of four children: Wilma, Charles, John, and Donald. They continued the tradition of seeing that their children received higher education each graduating with college degrees. Mildred and A.J. were very active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City, Iowa throughout their lives. They were also active in Eastern Star.
Mildred continued her mother's tradition by creating quilts for each of her four children and nine grandchildren. She also shared her mother's interest in gardening.
Mildred died on April 27, 1993 at the Nursing Care Center, Solon, Iowa just blocks away from her grandmother Parson's former home, less than two miles from where she was born, and a short distance from the family homestead.
