Carolyn Goodwin joined the League of Women Voters of Sioux City in the early 1980’s. Through the years, she has been committed to the mission of the League. She has worked on numerous studies on the local, state, and national level, including the Health Care and Education Studies has served in every LWVSC capacity as an officer or Board member except Treasurer. She was instrumental in LWVSC efforts to start the recycling program in Sioux City and served on the LWVSC Committee working to have “Women” included in the Iowa Constitutional amendment stating, “All Women and Men are Created Equal”. She worked on the LWVSC “Educational Local Option Sales Tax” that was ultimately adopted statewide. Two of her current passions are working with the Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission and the Naturalization Program. Carolyn has also mastered giving presentations as Carrie Chapman Catt to many organizations in the Siouxland area, making her come alive for her audiences in both dress and words.
