Dr. Dew has excelled in several professions always sharing her expertise knowledge and time in numerous volunteer projects. She is definitely a heroine!

Ann Dew, a native of Iowa, entered medicine as a second career after spending 8 years as an educator. Originally trained as a Physician's Assistant at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, she worked in Ambulatory Care at the Des Moines, Iowa VA Medical Center until returning to medical school. After graduating from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa she completed a PG-Y I in Internal Medicine. She did a residency in Preventive Medicine at Loma Linda University and is Board Certified. She also has a Masters degree in Public Health.

Currently she is Director of Employee Health at the Jerry L. Pettis VA in Loma Linda, California and is an assistant professor in Medicine and Public Health at Loma Linda University. She has an interest in International Health and has worked in Yucatan, Mexico and in Swaziland and Cameroon in Africa and in the Indian Health Service in Shiprock, New Mexico. She studied socialized medicine in England and Occupational Medicine at UC San Francisco.

Dr. Dew is the Medical Director for the Loma Linda University Social Action Community Clinics which serve the indigent of San Bernardino County. She has worked with medical students in the Students for International Missions projects. Currently she is involved in research on female veterans and in preparation of a book on animal diseases affecting women in livestock development in the third world.

Her interests include travel and cultures, art of all sorts, outdoor sports and house restoration. She is married, has no children and spoils her Springer Spaniel Tuxedo.
