Anna Henryson Hitzhusen was born in Story City, Iowa and now lives in Columbus, OH.

Ann graduated from South Hamilton Community High School (Randall, IA) and then from Iowa State University in 1964. She taught Home Economics in Alden, Iowa for one year. She married Fred Hitzhusen and they moved to Lafayette, Indiana where she became supervisor of food service in a student residence hall at Purdue University. For some years following the births of their two sons Ann was a busy mother and homeaker.

In 1984, Ann received an MSW degree from The Ohio State University. After working in a counseling center for eleven years she is now in private practice as a licensed independent social worker doing individual couple and group psychotherapy and counseling. She has diplomate status in NASW and is a member of ACSW. Ann belongs to the Ohio Society of Clinical Social Workers. She is a clinical member of AGPA (certified group psychotherapist) and is treasurer of the Tri-State Group Psychotherapy Society. She is a member of PEO.

Ann is very active in the Presbyterian Church having served as a deacon, an elder, on many committees, and in the choir. The Hitzhusens have traveled in Europe and Africa. Her interests include reading, sailing, running, swimming, traveling, and photography.
