Anna was born on December 9, 1894 in West Point, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Aloys and Anna Vogel. She had four sisters: Mary, Rose, Minnie, and Matilda; and four brothers: Joseph, William, Aloys, and Fritz. She attended Guardian Angel School in West Point, Nebraska until the 8th grade.
On September 25, 1928 Anna married Edward Burkhardt. They had four children: Mary Ann, Bernadine, Elizabeth, and Joseph. The raised their family in South Omaha, Nebraska.
Anna was a very devout Catholic and loving mother and grandmother who never let a day go by without saying a rosary with her family. Anna was also my grandmother. On November 26, 1988 she passed away at the age of 94. This was the first time I felt the pain that death leaves for the survivors. I miss her dearly.
