Anne Elizabeth Beran Stark

Anne Elizabeth (Beran) Stark was born June 19, 1957 to George and Janice Beran in Kansas City, Kansas. She had her early schooling at Silliman University Elementary School, Dumaguete, Philippines. She then finished at Ames High School, graduating in 1975. While in both high schools she was active in choir, lettered in swimming and was active in church youth groups.

She attended Iowa State University, worked as an Emergency Medical Technician at Story County Hospital and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Community Health Education after having worked for several years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

She married Terry Stark of Nevada on April 25, 1981. They live in Nevada, where he is a sargeant with the Story County Sheriff's department. They have three children: Teran (1985), Daniel John (1986) and Katherine Elizabeth (1993).

Anne initiated a respiratory support group at Mary Greeley Medical Center, teaches smoking cessation at Ames High School and is active with tobacco education groups. She also gives leadership in the Nevada Presbyterian Church. She and her husband are active in community and parent, school activities, church-related programs and the Nevada Public Library.
