Barbara Jean Wimmer lived until the age of thirty-five. She had breast cancer. It was 1962 - I was three years old. Although I have shadow box memories I need only to be wrapped in a hug from Linda - to feel her compassion. I need only to look into the deep brown of Debbie's eyes - to know her love. I need only face the mirror - to see her strength. I thank God for her "presence" every day. Barbara Jean Wimmer was our mother - and will always remain my heroine.
