We, her children, are honoring her because we love and respect her. We have chosen to honor her in the Plaza of Heroines because Iowa State University has been a large part of her life and this project in particular caught her attention.

She wrote the summary which follows listing some important events in her life. She has stood by us and other friends and family through the good times and the crisis times. We feel blessed that God has allowed us to be her children and learn how to live by following her example of strength, compassion, and accomplishment.
