Had wanted to be a nurse since childhood and began to fulfill this desire by becoming a nurse's aide in 1963. This was followed by the education process of LPN ADN and BSN. The desire to become a Nurse-Midwife evolved over the years and became more important to me as my children became older and I had fewer commitments.

I also saw a need to provide care to women during the birth process. I see nurse-midwifery as an extension of nursing combining nursing and medicine allowing me to be a participant in a woman's health care and the birth process. I feel a strong commitment to the profession and to the women I care for.
