Denise Jilovec McAfee is a native of eastern Iowa and a 2010 graduate of Iowa State University.
After earning a program certificate in botany and getting married, Denise decided to return to school as a nontraditional student and continue taking classes while raising her three daughters. She received her Associate of Arts from Des Moines Area Community College in 2005 before continuing on and graduating summa cum laude at Iowa State in 2010.
Denise's commitment to her education inspired a love of learning in her daughters, Lindsay, Megan, and Elisa, who will graduate from Iowa State in May of 2015 with a degree in psychology.
