Ethel comes from a background of a lifetime of farming and only after she and her husband, Orville, retired did she move to town. She is an active person who is young at heart. Her age does not belie her high level of activity, thus has given her much joy in appreciating her grandchildren. Without her, they would not be who they are today. She is the embodiment of the frontier woman in today's society.
