Faye Eloise Walters was the daughter of Charles H. and Nellie (Caltrider) Whetstone. She was born on July 7, 1917, at Casey, Iowa. Faye and Robert Thompson Walters were married on September 14, 1935. They lived near Casey for ten years and then moved to the original Whetstone farm north of Casey. Robert and Faye had one daughter, Elizabeth Ann, now Mrs. Robert Harrison of Vinton, Iowa. Faye was most happy in her home and with her family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and having her home enjoyable for any who came. Faye was always a student of current events and enjoyed books immensely. She helped frequently at the Casey Library with the children's program. Faye had a very clear sense of what was important and was supportive of her family and friends. Faye had five sisters and one brother that attended Iowa State University. Faye and Robert encouraged their daughter, Ann, to attend Iowa State University. Ann did graduate in 1960 and 1974 in Home Economics Education. Degrees were not so important to Faye. She did not go to college but felt the way individuals were respected and life long study were just as important.
