My mother is my heroine. She typifies the true American woman - she can do it all!! She helps maintain a century family farm, raised four children, is active in the community and always available to those in need. Her strength and character is demonstrated by the positive attitude she always possesses. This attitude prevails, whether encouraging others or enduring the ups and downs of agriculture. She is committed to her husband and each of her four children and grandchildren. She was determined each of us four would have the college education she was unable to have. All four graduated from ISU. She is known to stand up and fight for what she believes in, like the ideals of Carrie Chapman Catt, and persist until it is achieved.
