Jean Daane has been active in many programs to support causes to which she is committed including the following: Social Worker for the State of Virginia, American Red Cross Executive Director, Story County Chapter Ames Iowa, Established a Teen Crisis Center, Manhattan Kansas Mental Health Counseling Center Volunteer, Social Worker Manhattan, Kansas Planned Parenthood, Chapter Rolla Missouri President Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Social Worker Rolla Missouri, Director Elderhostel LaGrange College LaGrange GA, Habitat For Humanity Board Member Newnan Ga, Life Member Humane Society Newnan GA, Member National Association of Social Workers, Active in Faculty Wives Groups at Iowa State College/University, Kansas State University, University of Missouri-Rolla and LaGrange College and president of the groups at these last three institutions. Hemlock Society Georgia Chapter Lynchburg College Virginia; Alumni Board Director President Received the Thomas Gibson Hobbs Memorial Award for Meritorious Service to Lynchburg College.
And last but not least she remains an inspiration to her husband of over 50 years her children and grandchildren and to all who have been touched by her life.
