Jennifer Holtorf Beran

Jennifer (Holtorf) Beran was born in Hastings, Minnesota on December 18, 1962 to Norman and Lenora Holtorf, the fourth of their five children. Her early education was in Hastings schools from which she gradutatedated in 1981. While in high school she captained the girls' soccer team. She studied Interior Design at Iowa State University and was a Resident Advisor and a Farmhouse Little Sister. She was initiated into Omicron Nu and was active in intramural sports. Before she graduated in 1985 she met George Beran, also an ISU student.

In 1987 Jenni graduated from the Federal Aviation Air Traffic Control Academy as an Air Traffic Controller and worked at the Chicago Air Traffic Control Center. June 15, 1990 she and George S. Beran were married and they lived in Geneva, Illinois while he was teaching Physical Education, Social Studies, and Coaching at Hinckley Illinois Middle School. She transferred to the Minneapolis Enroute Air Traffic Control Center where she works as a Air Traffic Control Specialist. They live in Apple Valley, Minnesota where George teaches Physical Education at Greenleaf School. There they had two children: Abigail Elizabeth (1993) and Benjamin George (stillborn 1995).

Jennifer enjoys needlework, sports, and travel with George. They are active in the Lutheran church, school activities, and with a wide circle of family and friends.
