Jennifer Jane Webster Koppman was born February 8, 1964 and died at the age of thirty on April 9, 1994. Her parents are Arnold Kent Webster and Helenjane Merrick (Webster) Rasmussen. She lived in Des Moines and West Des Moines and graduated from Valley High School in 1982. She was an accomplished musician, playing piano and flute. She played for three years in the Valley Marchmasters and lettered in volleyball. Jennifer attended Cornell College and transferred to Iowa State University, where she received her B.A. in Business and Computer Science.

She moved to New York City and at the time of her death worked for Morgan Stanley Investment Bankers. Jennifer met George Gilbert Koppmann and they were married in the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in New York July 2, 1989. She and George enjoyed five years together, sailing, motorcycling, skiing and flying.

On Saturday April 9, 1994 Jennifer and her flight instructor were killed in a midair collision over the Republic Airport, Long Island, New York, as she prepared for her private pilot certificate. Jennifer had a positive approach in all she did. She loved to read and worked in a book store while attending Iowa State. Her happiness spread to everyone she met. Her soft giggle and friendly smile will be remembered by all. Carpe Diem! Jennifer seized the day.
