Jennifer Van Der Bosch Lyons was born November 29, 1966 and graduated from Lake Zurich High School in Illinois in 1985. She went on to attend Iowa State University and completed her bachelor's degree in Journalism/Mass Communications in 1989. After graduation Jennifer worked for WHO-TV in Des Moines Iowa as a weekend producer photographer and editor. In the following years she also worked as a producer for KWQC-TV in Davenport Iowa and for WBBM-TV in Chicago. Since 1993 Jennifer Lyons has been a producer for WGN-TV in Chicago.

In this position she has covered an array of important news events including the funeral mass of Joseph Cardinal Bernadin the visit of Pope John Paul to St. Louis and the local and national 9/11 Memorial Services. Jennifer is currently an executive producer and is responsible for the content and production of the WGN News at Noon broadcast. She has been the recipient of several awards for excellence in TV news including the 1999 Silver Dome Award for Best Television Newscast and the 2000 First Place Silver Dome for coverage of the Walter Payton Memorial Service.

In addition in 2004 Jennifer Lyons recived the Second Place Silver Dome for Best Evening Newscast and an Emmy for Outstanding Feature Series in Hard News. Jennifer has been married to Dale Lyon's ('89 AG Business and Finance) since 1989. They now have six children: Marie Gregory John Paul Clare Michael and Casey James. The Lyons reside in Cary, Illinois.
