Joanne Smith is my grandma. She is very active in the local and state Democratic Party and the League of Women Voters, along with many other volunteer organizations. She has shown me that if you want the world changed then you have get out into the world and change it. She has shown strength and perseverance throughout her life, and that's why she is our heroine.
