Josie Kathleen Timmons was born April 28, 1954 in Ames, Iowa to John and Dorothy Timmons. She attended St. Cecelia's School and graduated from Ames High School in 1972. She attended Regis College in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Iowa State University in 1976 with a degree in Interior Design. She is a member of Gamma Phi Beta social sorority. She was a self-employed interior designer in Denver Colorado for 10 years.
In 1986 she married J Scott Josif an engineer with Dow Chemical Co.. They reside in Palatine, Illinois and have two children: Keelin Elizabeth (6) and John Scott (4). Josie is a member of PEO and Holy Family Catholic Church.
