Judy Seidel Melanson

Judy (Seidel) Melanson was born August 10, 1947 in St. Paul, MN and grew up in Ames. She graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA in 1969 with a Bachelor of Music degree. In 1971, she married Harold Melanson. They have one son Russ. The Melansons lived in Pittsburgh, PA and in Toronto, Ontario before moving to Minneapolis in 1977. Judy worked as a computer programmer for the provincial hospital administration in Ontario.

She has since worked extensively for various political campaigns in Minnesota. She was Vice President of the National Women's Political Caucus for two terms. Since 1982 she has been Executive Director of the Minnesota Women's Political Caucus. She has done extensive volunteer work for the Red Cross especially on blood drives. She is active in the Presbyterian church. Her interests are politics women's equality, science fiction, selling Avon, computers and games.
