Karyn Anne Gingerich blew into Ames, Iowa on a snowy cold January day in 1977. This young blustery Midwesterner has distinguished herself in every activity that she has pursued at church home and school. As a member of the Trinity Lutheran church she shared her beliefs with younger members of the congregation in Sunday School lead the youth group and participated in Sunday services as an acolyte and communion assistant.

Throughout the week she's a beloved member of our family of five completing a succession of three Gingerich children through our local school system. This member of Towanda Area High School's National Honor Society is a captain of the swim team and Vice-President of the District's Student Councils. A two time recipient of Perfect Attendance Awards Karyn was a member of the high school drill team and a captain of the majorettes. She has additionally distinguished herself academically via repeated inclusion of Towanda High's Honor Roll. Karyn was also a member of the track team. On weekends you will find her merrily seving customers at Leroy's Sub Shop. Once or twice a week you'll find her at the Towanda Public Library working with her mother as a Library Aide.

It is with great pleasure and pride that I nominate Karyn Anne Gingerich for inclusion in your Plaza of Heroines her level of energy and success is an inspiration for all of us.
