Katherine Engle Goodhue was born March 17, 1877, and died April 15, 1948. She married Thomas W. Goodhue August 23, 1899. Katherine was the mother of three children, all graduates of Iowa State University. She was a very hard working farm woman who struggled along side our father to make it possible for their children to receive a college education during those difficult depression years.
Her son Dr. Lyle D. Goodhue received a B.S. in 1927, an M.S. in 1928, and a Ph.D. in 1934, all degrees from Iowa State. He was invited back in 1943 and honored as the Alumnus of the Year.
Her first daughter, Irene Goodhue Gold, now living in Asheville, N.C. received her B.S. in Home Economics in 1930.
The youngest daughter, Wanda Goodhue Price, also received a B.S. in Home Economics in 1936 and is now living in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.
