KAYE HAVNER KYNER BLYTHE Billings, Montana

"Commitment" is probably the single best word to describe Kaye Havner Kyner Blythe -- commitment to her family, her community, and her profession. Kaye graduated from Iowa State in 1956 with a degree in home economics. She married Richard Dawes Blythe (Iowa State-1957)) in June 1957 and moved to Billings, Montana in 1962. They are the parents of Leslie Blythe, 35, Casper, Wyoming; Scott Alan Blythe, 31, Portland, Oregon (Iowa State University-1986); and the late Kevin Kyner Blythe.

Throughout the years, Kaye has been actively involved with her family's and community activities as well as her profession in real estate. She is a member of the Junior League, the League of Women Voters, and many other civic and human-service organizations. When her family was young, Kaye also served as a 4-H and Scout leader; was an avid outdoors person, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping; and was a "horseshow mom", assisting while her daughter competed.

After beginning her professional career in the retail field, Kaye became interested in real estate, receiving her salesperson's license in 1975 and her broker's license in 1977. She worked in several real estate offices in the Billings area prior to purchasing the RE/MAX of Billings office with her husband Dick in 1985. Throughout her years as a Realtor Kaye has served as a member of the loca,l state, and national associations of REALTORS; chaired several committees at the local and state levels; and was President of the Billings Board of REALTORS in 1983-84. In addition to earning the designations of a Certified Relocation Professional and a National Association of REALTORS (NAR) certified Professional Standards Trainer, Kaye serves on the NAR Professional Standards Committee and conducts professional standards classes throughout Montana.

Kaye has been honored numerous times during her career in real estate for her outstanding work. These include various regional RE/MAX awards as well as several honors as the top seller, top lister, top-dollar volume seller, and top-dollar volume lister in Billings. Several of her significant honors include REALTOR of the Year for Billings and the State of Montana in 1989; Top Salesperson in the RE/MAX Pacific Northwest Region in 1986; and Salesperson of the Year for the Billings Board of REALTORS and the State of Montana in 1982.

Among her most outstanding achievements was being named the recipient of the first RE/MAX Hall of Fame Award, given in the organization's Pacific Northwest Region (1991). This award recognizes individuals whose performance has provided long-term consistently high production.

Kaye's commitment over the years to her profession, the community, and most importantly her family, is exemplary. She has represented her alma mater well as a truly utstanding individual. 7/1/96
