Laura Elizabeth Hedgepeth was born October 2, 1957 to William and Sally Hedgepeth in Burlington, Iowa. Laura attended Iowa State from 1975 through 1979 and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Since Laura was an only child she really enjoyed the sisterhood of being a Pi Phi. While attending Iowa State Laura was a Banner Girl for four years with the Cyclone Marching Band and a member and Officer of the Iowa State Ski Club.
On September 15, 1979 Laura was married to David Ver Hoef also a graduate of Iowa State. They made their home in Longview, Texas. On November 2, 1981 Laura and her expectant baby were killed in a traffic accident in Kilgore, Texas. Some of our daughters happiest years were spent at Iowa State. We her parents make this donation in memory of a loving and caring young woman our beloved daughter Laura.
