Lauren was born January 16, 1985 in Omaha, Nebraska to Donald D. and Melissa A. Peeler. She attends Laura Dodge Elementary School and is in the fourth grade. Lauren is quite active in dance where she has participated in 8 dance recitals on the stage of the Orpheum Theater in Omaha, Nebraska. Lauren has been a 4-H member for 5 years and is the Secretary of the Dream Catchers 4-H club. She is very active in community service; volunteering her time at nursing homes and collecting books for the children’s homeless shelter. She also serves as a assistant junior leader at many Pee-Wee 4-H activities. In her first year in 4-H she won several county awards including food and nutrition and style revue. Lauren is active in chorus and string orchestra where she plays the violin. Lauren in a straight A student and enjoys school and learning. Lauren has excelled in Tae Kwondo and has won medals for best of form at area Tae Kwondo tournaments. Lauren has participated in swim team and soccer. Lauren loves to travel and experience new adventures. She loves history and collects antique books. She enjoys horseback riding, fishing and ISU events. Lauren regularly attends Veishea and ISU football games. She enjoys attending as many ISU basketball games as she can collecting autographs from the mascots coaches and players.

I am proud to honor my oldest daughter Lauren E. Peeler by placing her name in this Plaza of Heroines. Lauren’s dedication to her family, school, and her community makes her a worthy recipient of this honor. Lauren’s undying energy toward excellence is amazing for a girl of her age. Lauren is a kind, responsible and loving child. She has all of the attributes that without a doubt will carry her through a successful life.
