Laurene D. Twetten was born in 1903 and spent most of her life in Spencer, Iowa where she and her husband, Walter, owned and operated their successful furniture & interior design business, and where they raised their three sons: Bob, Jerry, and Tom. She enjoyed their eight grandchildren & twenty-two great grandchildren. From her student days at Iowa State College, Laurene developed her career as an interior designer of distinction. Throughout her life, she was active in the arts, in her church, and in civic affairs. In the years following her husband's death in 1977, she moved to Laguna Hills, California where she lived into the new millennium. She passed away on December 31, 2000 after 97 fulfilling years.
