Linda has received the League of Women Voters Carrie Chapman Catt award for her contributions to both her League and community. Her intellect, energy and dedication is an inspiration. Linda had been a member of the League for only one year when she stepped up to take on the role of President. With her amazing drive, sensitivity and tactful leadership, she led us down new and exciting paths. Linda continues to serve as advisory Past-President and chairs the Programs and Scholarship committee. She was an integral part of the League’s study on Rural Transportation, utilizing her research and communication skills to put forward a most professional presentation to our membership and the Story County Board of Supervisors. Her commitment extends beyond our local league, serving on the LWV State Board and on committees for the LWV United States. Linda has served as President for both the Study of Higher Education and the Council for the Study of Community Colleges, as Associate Dean for the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State University, and Associate Director for the Center for Higher Education Policy. Linda works with community colleges nationwide and internationally to benefit young people and late learners. Linda’s energy, passion and dedication to all of her endeavors make her truly worthy of this award.
