LOIS VAN ALSTINE HOLLER 1897 - Lois Van Alstine was fortunate to have parents who believed in and worked for women's rights and citizen service in government. After college years work marriage and 3 children she made time to serve as State President Iowa League of Women Voters and on the League's National Board. She traveled the country as an organizer for Community Concerts and ran for the Iowa Legislature from Story County.

After retirement she found time to pursue her oil painting and was successful in selling many works and inspiring fellow artists. In addition she helped her own community to found and support a symphony orchestra. Now at 98 she maintains a lively interest in world affairs and the affairs of her family or which I am fortunate to be a member.
