Mary Alice Carter has worked as the co-trustee at Alice G. Zillman Investment Co. Trust since 1984. Her previous work experience has included several journalism and reporter jobs, real estate work, and ownership of eight hairstyling businesses.
Carter earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in 1966 from Iowa State University and her Master's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Carter has been involved with many community programs through the years. She has been involved with mentoring abused children, many Methodist church communities, women's groups, political campaigns, and entrepreneurship-based groups. She is also a member of the Iowa State University Alumni Association.
Carter is the wife of a systems engineer and mother of a 15-year-old son.
