We, the Robert A. Swanson, Jr., family of Tempe, Arizona, honor and recognize as our heroine, our mother, and grandmother Margaret Althea (Hensley) Swanson of Spencer, Iowa. Two of her sons, Robert and Brent attended Iowa State University as did two of her granddaughters who are both ISU alumnae, Erica (1997), and Dawn (1992). To mark Mom's/Grandma's 75th birthday which coincides with our daughter Erica's graduation on May 10, 1997, we had this brick set in her honor.
Margaret (Marge) has brought love and laughter to each of those she has touched be they family, friend, or acquaintance. Her smile, her stories, her charity toward others, and her “cinnamon rolls”, have made Marge a legend in the Spencer and Royal, IA communities. We love you, and cherish that we are fortunate to be members of your family.
