Maria Meschi was born in Segromingno, Monte Lucca, Italy in 1891. She was my grandmother and with whom I lived from age four to my late 20's. She was a simple immigrant woman who had the courage to come alone to this country with her new husband. She never learned much English but she taught me compassion, kindness and a passion for life. Whenever I think of her I think of pure happiness and contentment. May I always cherish the simple things of life as she did.
Marie died in 1979.
