Marty is an ISU graduate who is making outstanding contributions to the field of Home Economics Education as a faculty member at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Rossmann graduated from Iowa State in 1958 with a major in Home Economics Education. She taught at Roland, Iowa High School from 1958-60 and taught in Minneapolis area schools (Wayzata, Minneapolis and Moundsview) from 1960-63. From 1963-72, she focused on our children, Charles and Sarah, and enrolled in graduate school at the University of Minnesota in the fall of 1972. In 1977, she completed her Ph.D. in Home Economics Education and has been a faculty member in the Department of Vocational-Technical Education at the University since that time. Her current title is Associate Professor of Education.

Beyond teaching and research, her professional activities since joining the University of Minnesota faculty include three years as coordinator of the family education program at the University, five years as director of the special services program for the University's Department of Vocational-Technical Education, and one year as president of the Minnesota Home Economics Association. She is currently the editor of the Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

Dr. Rossmann has a strong professional and personal commitment to families--and her recognition in the Plaza honors this commitment.
